For patients seeking relief from chronic pain, our pain management services offer a range of therapies that address the root cause of discomfort. Our multidisciplinary approach includes medication management, physical therapy, and injection-based treatments like epidural steroid injections and nerve blocks. These treatments are designed to reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and restore mobility without the need for surgery, allowing you to get back to your daily life.

Interlaminar steroid injection

A procedure used to deliver medication directly into the epidural space of the spine, typically in the lumbar (lower back) or cervical (neck) regions. During the procedure, a needle is inserted between the vertebrae (laminae) to access the epidural space, where a combination of corticosteroids and anesthetics is injected

 Transforaminal steroid injection

A procedure used to deliver medication directly to the epidural space, targeting specific nerve roots in the spine. This technique involves inserting a needle through the foramen, the opening where spinal nerves exit the spinal column.

During the injection, a combination of corticosteroids and anesthetics is administered to reduce inflammation and relieve pain associated with conditions like herniated discs, radiculopathy, or sciatica. By precisely targeting the affected nerve root, this method can provide effective pain relief and improve function.

Caudal Epidural Injection

A minimally invasive procedure used to relieve pain in the lower back, legs, and sometimes the pelvis. It involves injecting medication, typically a corticosteroid and/or anesthetic, into the epidural space at the base of the spine, near the tailbone (caudal area).

Facet Joint Injection

A minimally invasive procedure used to relieve pain in the spine by targeting the facet joints, which are small joints located between the vertebrae. These joints help stabilize the spine and allow for movement.

During the procedure, a healthcare provider uses imaging guidance, such as fluoroscopy, to accurately place a needle into the facet joint space. A combination of anesthetic and corticosteroid medication is injected to reduce inflammation and alleviate pain caused by conditions such as arthritis, facet joint syndrome, or injuries.

Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Injection

A procedure used to diagnose and treat pain originating from the sacroiliac (SI) joint, which connects the spine to the pelvis. This joint can be a source of pain due to conditions like arthritis, inflammation, or injury.
During the injection, a healthcare provider uses imaging guidance, typically fluoroscopy or ultrasound, to accurately place a needle into the SI joint space. A combination of anesthetic and corticosteroid medication is injected to reduce inflammation and alleviate pain.

Trigger Point Injection

A procedure used to relieve pain associated with myofascial pain syndrome, which involves painful knots or “trigger points” in the muscles. These trigger points can cause localized pain and may also refer pain to other areas of the body.
During the procedure, a healthcare provider locates the trigger point in the muscle and uses a fine needle to inject a mixture of anesthetic, corticosteroid, or saline directly into the affected area. This can help reduce muscle tension, alleviate pain, and improve mobility.

Bursa Injection

Bursa injections are recommended for individuals who suffer from chronic pain due to bursitis, arthritis, or tendonitis. These conditions often cause inflammation, making simple movements painful. A bursa injection can relieve pain and improve joint mobility, making it easier to carry out daily activities without discomfort.
Ideal Candidates – Patients with chronic joint pain, inflammation, or reduced joint function due to bursitis or arthritis.

Not Suitable For – Patients with infections at the injection site, certain allergies, or uncontrolled diabetes.

Facet & Medial Branch Blocks

Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures used to alleviate pain stemming from the facet joints in the spine.
Facet Joint Block – A facet joint block involves injecting a local anesthetic (and sometimes a corticosteroid) directly into a specific facet joint. This procedure aims to relieve pain caused by conditions such as arthritis or facet joint syndrome. By targeting the joint directly, the injection can provide immediate pain relief and help confirm whether the facet joint is the source of the patient’s pain.

Medial Branch Block – A medial branch block, on the other hand, targets the medial branch nerves that supply sensation to the facet joints. During this procedure, a needle is placed near these nerves, and a local anesthetic is injected. This block helps to determine if the pain is originating from the facet joints. If the injection provides significant pain relief, it can indicate that the facet joint is the source of the problem.

Radiofrequency Ablation

A minimally invasive procedure designed to alleviate pain, particularly in the spine and joints. The process begins with the patient being positioned comfortably and receiving local anesthesia in the area of treatment. Using imaging techniques like fluoroscopy or ultrasound, a needle is precisely inserted near the targeted nerve. Radiofrequency energy is then transmitted through the needle to generate heat, effectively disrupting the nerve’s ability to send pain signals. RFA is commonly used for conditions such as facet joint pain, chronic back pain, neck pain, and arthritis-related discomfort. This procedure offers significant and often long-lasting pain relief while being minimally invasive
An epidural steroid injection places anti-inflammatory medicine into the epidural/caudal space to decrease inflammation of the nerve roots, in the hopes of reducing pain in the neck/back or extremities. The epidural injection may help the injury to heal by reducing inflammation. It may provide permanent relief or provide a period of pain relief for several months while the injury/cause of pain is healing.
